There's a reason we use warming spices in our cooking during the winter season, particularly in colder climates.
Most of the spicier herbs and oils are known to support our immune systems and ease muscular aches and pains.
Here are just a few of the essential oils you might want to keep handy to blend up as a winter mixture.

Tea Tree - for your immune system
Suggested use: apply 2-3 drops to chest and massage daily. Drop up to 4 drops into a warm bath when feeling a cold coming on.
Ginger Root - for muscular aches and pains
Suggested use: blend 2 drops of the oil into a tablespoon of sweet almond oil carrier oil, blend and bottle, pour 4 drops into a warm bath with a handful of epsom salts, and relax.
Cinammon Inner Bark - circulation, rheumatism
Suggested use: blend 2 drops of the essential oil into a tablespoon of sweet almond oil carrier oil, bottle, and either massage affected area, or pour two drops into the bath to relax.
Cold Ease Blend
- massage over chest and use as an inhalation
2 oz - sweet almond oil
2 drops of wintergreen
6 drops of peppermint
15 drops of ravensara
1 drop of clove
6 drops of rosemary
Always dilute essential oils with the exception of Tea Tree and Lavender, and ensure you skin patch test first before using any oils. Never use whilst pregnant and avoid the above oils if you have high blood pressure. Always use the least amount of essential oils ie less is best.
